Yeasayer - 2080

This is a fantastic song and a perfect video to accompany it. Lyrics posted below.

I can't sleep when I think about the times we're living in
I can't sleep when I think about the future I was born into
Outsiders dressed up like Sunday morning
With no Berlin wall what the hell you gonna do

It's a New Year
I'm glad to be here
It's a fresh spring
So let's sing
In 2080
I'll surely be dead
So don't look ahead
Never look ahead
It's a New Year
I'm glad to be here
It's a fresh spring
So let's sing
And the moon shines bright
On the water tonight
So we won't drown
In the summer sound

If you find me I'll be sitting by the water fountain
Picket signs, letdowns, meltdown it's Monday morning
But it's alright, it's alright, it's alright, it's alright
It's alright
Cause in no time, they'll be gone, I guess I'll still be standing here

It's a New Year
I'm glad to be here
It's a fresh spring
So let's sing
In 2080
I'll surely be dead
So don't look ahead
Never look ahead
It's a New Year
I'm glad to be here
It's a fresh spring
So let's sing
And the moon shines bright
On the water tonight
So we won't drown
In the summer sound

Yeah yeah we can all grab at the chance to be handsome farmers
Yeah you can have twenty-one sons and be blood when they marry my daughters
And the pain that we left at the station will stay in a jar behind us
We can pickle the pain into blue ribbon winners at county contests

It's a New Year
I'm glad to be here
It's a fresh spring
So let's sing
In 2080
I'll surely be dead
So don't look ahead
Never look ahead
It's a New Year
I'm glad to be here
It's a fresh spring
So let's sing
And the moon shines bright
On the water tonight
So we won't drown
In the summer sound

Yeah yeah we can all grab at the chance to be handsome farmers
Yeah you can have twenty-one sons and be blood when they marry my daughters
And the pain that we left at the station will stay in a jar behind us
We can pickle the pain into blue ribbon winners at county contests

Two Amazing Video Games

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare

This is one of the most visually stunning games I have ever seen. I absolutely loved the game play of Call of Duty 2 and was pretty pissed when Call of Duty 3 was not released for PC. I keep noticing that the sound is mediocre, which is suprising given that Call of Duty 2 had fantastic sound. For some reason, gunshots sound terrible about 1/3 of the time (especially when they are far off or if a bullet is whizzing by you). It just doesn't sound like anything except a funky sound some engineer came up with on his keyboard. You can really notice how off the bullets sound in the extended opening scenes of the first mission. The verbal audio, on the other hand, is devastatingly good.

Company of Heroes

I haven't had this much fun in a Real Time Strategy game since Command and Conquer: Red Alert. The audio in this game, in stark contrast to Call of Duty 4, is stunning. Whenever you order up an artillery barrage, your stomach turns. The musical score is really strong as well. The controls take some getting used to and are a little counterintuitive, but I felt at home within no time. This game was touted as a DX10 title, but I didn't notice too much of a difference between the game in DX9 and DX10 mode.
