ESPN's "The Ultimate Highlight"
How is it that ESPN manages to butcher amazing sports plays with its "Ultimate Highlight"? For some reason, the producers think:
- Zooming in on all of the clips so that you can't see what's happening makes it "interesting"
- Shaking the camera makes it "fun"
- Blaring guitar music makes it "hip"
- Five simultaneous video overlays make it "modern"
- Poorly-timed transitions make it "suspenseful"
Yet another chapter in SportCenter's inevitable decline . . .
