On Being Facetious

If a person ever explains, "I'm being facetious," after they make a statement, don't bother looking the word up in the dictionary because all it means is that that person is being a sarcastic ass.

There are no circumstances under which anyone should ever have to explain they are being facetious. Not only are they telling you that you are too dumb to figure out that they were joking, now they're showing you that they know big words too.

Now, if they knew how to deliver the punchline, we wouldn't have this problem in the first place.

Dude, I know plenty of people who are oblivious and need to be told that I am being a sarcastic ass. Besides, dude, you're in Berkeley. If people don't get a sarcastic joke there, it must be because of the dumbass telling it.

Like . . . Duh!

Is not that big a word though is it?

That's quite big!

Looks like someone is too stupid to think of sarcasm before people around them so they wrote a nice premeditated short whining about being facetious.

Sounds like somebody is mad.

You have it completely backwards. If I tell you I'm being facetious, it's because you clearly think I'm a jerk and I simply intend to reassure you that I am not. And it's really not a big word. Most people know what it means, even if you don't.
